So, while not getting anything done I've been working myself tired as f.... Gotta love those days.
I'm suspecting tomorrow will be pretty much the same, so the logical thing would be to get plenty of sleep and be very well rested. That's not likely to happen though. I'll sit here doing my little bit of programming, have Star Trek playing in the background and drink lots of coffee.
Yeah, the Lazy Ass Husband is way too much of a nerd to be sensible.
While sitting here, I'm hoping that my ankle will get better after last Tuesday's adventures. It got twisted pretty bad, and is still blue from the experience. If it doesn't stop hurting soon, I have to see a doctor about it. And seriously, I don't want to do that. Because doctors are evil.
I'll probably suck it up and get it done if it's not better by next week. Probably.
Peace out.

ReplyDeleteSound almost as productive as my day at work.
ReplyDeleteFirst I attended a conference call where the chairman of the conference call never joined. When sending him an e-mail he had auto-away reply on saying he was on a business trip and would be back 31st of March!
Since this round of new hire trainings are now finished I was to move back to the other building.
I had a desktop, 3 notebooks and loads of other crap I needed to take with me. When I arrived at the other building I got to know that Gunnar had stolen my workstations network cable and there was no network cable left for me. The right thing to do would be to take my network cable back, but since I'm a nice guy and had no idea what amount of work this would be I took upon me to get one extra network cable.
Of course this meant opening the floor 6-7 meters away from my desk/computer and drag a new cable from here and to my computer. When this physical work (WTF!?) was done it still didn't work of course because there was something wrong with this port that I was connected to in the server room so it said "No network cable connected", they fixed this, but then I got no IP adress (only 169...)
About 2,5 hours after I arrived my workstation was ready to use and by then all forms of energy to work was lost. Still I started updating some folders on the local server. Well "trying" was more like it.
The O: drive of the local server have not been mounted as a network drive on my workstation upon log-in in the last days but using a short cut on my desktop it still worked but when trying to copy a file from destination A to B it said the file name is too long, max 8 characters (WTF!). I know the server runs NTFS and this should not be an issue. According to my computer the file system on the O: drive is RAW apparently which leads to both the fact that it can not be mounted as a network drive and I can't move/copy any files. On all other computers it shows that it has NTFS!
I can only imagine that tomorrow they will reinstall my workstation to make it start working again...
