So, here we are again, time to update this blog thing with something. So, what will today's update be about then.... Maybe the fact that I got some positive news this last week. Yeah, that seems like a good thing to write a quick entry about.
I was sitting at work doing the usual stuff, when I suddenly got an e-mail about my questions regarding the possibility of obtaining an L-1 class non-immigrant visa (Intra-Company Transferee) to the USA. Apparently, after going through a couple of links with no feedback, some guy with the title "Executive Vice President, Domestic Operations" at the HQ in USA had taken an interest. Basically I was asked to let them know which site I would be interested in working at.
So, the quest to have the petition for an L-1B or L-1A visa being filed is moving forward. This was a very positive message to get when you're sitting at work trying to find motivation to do the usual reports.
So, it's time to get preparations in to high gear. That means rabies vaccines for the cats and spend as little money as humanly possible to make sure there's enough cash to cover all expenses surrounding a move. Luckily, when moving continents at least I won't have to think about bringing tons of furniture, computers, etc. etc. Cats, clothes and a few other things that can't be left behind. Anything that won't fit in to a cage or suitcase will have to be shipped after.
So, with some luck I'll be seeing this in not too long.
Things will of course still take a lot of time, but at least it's moving in the right direction.
Peace out.

A little pointless update
Been a week since the last post again, and nothing much exciting has happened really. Been working, booked a vet appointment for a cat and allowed myself to get frustrated over a couple of news items from "the old country". The EU Data Retention Directive and anti racism are the ones that frustrated me this time.
To begin with anti racism. What is it that makes idiots think that being violent will get any sympathy? Yes, I agree, racism is a bad thing. But somewhere between 50-100 people ganging up to beat up one man, like the anti racists did on Saturday is just retarded. It's not helping anyone, it has nothing to do with the anti racism cause, and just shows that they are no better than the powers they claim to be against. Simple as that.
And then for the EU Data Retention Directive. I hate it. I'm against it with every fibre of my privacy liking being. But when looking at the idiocy which apparently is representing the protesters in Norway, I'm kinda embarrassed to be associated with them.
Peace out.

- No, the Data Retention Directive is not about storing content data. It's location, time and traffic data. Completely different. I don't like the direction it's going in, but for the protesters, at least get your BASIC facts straight on what you're protesting against.
- No, DDoS against two websites that nobody uses anyway isn't going to get you any sympathy.
- No, Anonymous does not have any spokesperson, so the idiotic kiddies in the newspapers were nothing more than idiotic kiddies thinking they were cool.
- No, the low-orbit cannon is not a hacking tool. Using it does not make you a hacker, it makes you a law breaking moron.
- No, the national parliament adopting the Data Retention Directive is not treason. Seriously folks? That's all you got in terms of arguments against this? No fuckin' wonder you lost this one then.
- Is the Data Retention Directive going against the constitution? Fine, then TAKE IT TO COURT for fuck sake! Stop screaming on forums where nobody cares, but actually go do something! Oh, that's right. That would actually take some effort wouldn't it? Better to just "protest" by joining pointless Facebook groups and signing online petitions nobody care about.
Peace out.

Wrestlemania XXVII
Ah, yes. It's Wrestlemania weekend! And after caving in, for the first time since I was a kid I'll be watching it live!
Pro wrestling is my kind of soap opera. No, I don't have any illusion that it's "real", but it's a staged stunt show with storylines. So while watching it, I use what is fancily called "suspension of disbelief" and enjoy myself. Just like when watching any other TV show or movie.
So, another useless and completely random post, just to update my blog.
Peace out!
